This work was created after walking around my neighborhood in San Francisco Nob Hill when the pandemic first started. I was noticing all of the businesses closed for an unforeseeable amount of time.

Peng Shuai is a famous Chinese tennis player who seamed to disappear from public eye after accusing a high profile politician of sexual assault. This work is based on a photograph of a zoom call Peng was last seen where she appeared to be alive and well, although she has quietly left public life. Peng is framed by tall dark shadows of powerful men.
